✨ In celebration of Filipino Heritage Month, we’ll be sharing weekly facts and an opportunity for all Canadians to learn about and appreciate the Filipino community. Follow along every week, and let’s learn and celebrate together.

Toronto: Home to Canada’s Largest Filipino Community.

💛 June 12 is Filipino Heritage Day, coinciding with Philippine Independence Day. On this day, we recognize the rich heritage and contributions of Filipino Canadians, and to celebrate the cultural diversity of the country.

💙 Toronto is home to 62% of Canada’s Filipino population (over 250,000), making it the largest Filipino community in the country.

❤️ The community began growing significantly in the 1960s, initially led by Filipina nurses who came to Canada to fill healthcare roles.
